OpenSea introduces new security features to prevent NFT theft
As you probably know, the NFT market has its share of scams and thefts. But OpenSea, the largest NFT marketplace, is doing something about it.
The platform introduces two new features β one, which disables scam links, and the other which identifies stolen NFTs. So, with these two options in place, hopefully, we'll see a decrease in thefts and scams overall.
The first feature works by detecting scam links and then disabling them. This should help to prevent people from accidentally clicking on a link that will steal their NFTs. The second feature is designed to identify stolen NFTs and then block their resale. This is a big issue because the marketplace was full of NFTs that were stolen and then resold to unsuspecting buyers. But with this new feature, hopefully, we'll see those numbers go down.
The new security system will not only track known exploits with an expanding blocklist, but it will also take a preventative measure by simulating a real wallet interaction in order to identify any contract functions or behaviors that might suggest a scam. If any NFT mints are found to be malicious, they will be blacklisted and removed from the site.
OpenSea has been working hard to improve the security of their platform and these new features are a great addition to the platform. Hopefully, the new security system will help to keep people's NFTs safe from theft. In time, we hope, all the problems we've been seeing with NFTs will be a thing of the past.
WB is preparing to release Game of Thrones NFTs in collaboration with Nifty Gateway
Warner Brothers Discovery and Nifty Gateway have teamed up to bring House of the Dragon fans a new way to show their fandom - with NFTs!
The addition of NFTs to Game of Thrones will allow fans to collect digital assets that can be used to show their support for their favorite house. The collection will include a variety of House sigil NFTs, as well as other assets inspired by the series.
The collection, called "Game of Thrones: Build Your Realm," is a collaboration with digital production company Daz 3D. The initial sale will begin with a release of avatars inspired by Game of Thrones. The avatars will be bundled with a pack of digital collectibles that collectors can use to upgrade their avatars.
Unlike movie-based games, movie-based NFT collections seem to be doing well. We've previously posted about Anthony Hopkins' collection here, the NFTs of Anthony Hopkins' most famous characters sold out in less than 10 minutes. Digital assets allow fans to show their fandom in a way that they couldn't before, and even though the creators of the show may not get anything from it, it's still a cool way for fans to support their favorite properties.
The rise of Metaverse tools in Japanese education
Toda, a Japanese city has found a solution to the problem of increasing absenteeism rates by using metaverse tools. With these tools, students who are far away from school can attend class daily and explore their campus freely in a virtual space.
In addition, the city is also offering a new way to fight depression and social anxiety through the use of avatars. This program provides an immersive space for people to interact with others in a safe and controlled environment.
The Head of Education in Toda, Sugimori Masayuki expressed that the coming initiative will make metaverse students more independent and resourceful. He believes that VR/metaverse technology has potential because it can make the learning process more interesting and interactive, while being easy to use.
This is a welcome development, as depression and social anxiety are becoming more prevalent in today's society. The use of avatars in a virtual space provides people with a safe place to interact with others and learn social skills. It also gives students the opportunity to explore their campus and learn in a more hands-on way. This has the potential to change the way we learn in the future.
