Vitalik sells $700k worth of various defi coins

Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum's co-founder is selling the coins that the people used to send him for free. Lookonchain first noticed this on Etherescan.

Vitalik's wallet sold about 50 billion MOPS tokens, worth 1.25 ETH or $2,000, 10 billion CULT tokens worth 58 ETH or around $91,000 and 500 trillion SHIK tokens for 380 ETH or approximately $600,000.

This sell-off has had an impact on the prices of these coins according to real-time data from CoinGecko. MOPS even won somewhat because of this, being up over 1500% in the 24 hours after Vitalik dumped the coins. Vitalik gets these memecoin drops very frequently, and it became kind of a thing memecoin devs do in order to get some extra publicity.

Though it seems like Vitalik's decision to offload these coins raised a few questions on Twitter, as the community is now busy arguing about whether it was ethical to sell these airdrops, or to have devs drop their coins in Vitalik's wallet in the first place. Why did he do it exactly is not yet clear.

Shibarium public beta goes live within this week

SHIB has announced the launch of its Shibarium public beta platform, which is said to be launching sometime this week. This platform will aim to offer users a range of benefits, such as faster and cheaper transactions, increased scalability, and enhanced security.

The Shibarium team spent months developing and testing the platform before releasing the public beta. As the platform is still in its testing phase, users are advised to use caution when using Shibarium and should not rely on it as a primary source of SHIB transactions. The team encourages users to provide feedback and suggestions so that they can further develop the platform and make it more secure and efficient.

Of course, the SHIB community is super ecstatic about the launch. Shibarium, as they see it, is an important step towards mass adoption of SHIB and will offer a wide array of benefits to users. As far as the chain itself goes, it's probably not going to be the most innovative project out there but hey, that's what the devs promised and it's only the first phase of the project.

Binance NFT adds support for Polygon chain

Binance NFT adds the support for Polygon chain, making it the third biggest blockchain supported by Binance NFT. According to Binance, this would give users access to a wider range of NFTs from the Polygon network.

Polygon NFTs were doing pretty good as of late, on OpenSea for example, the platform saw a steady increase in sales and activity. This growth is mainly driven by low cost NFTs that are priced within 1$ range, but despite this, it managed to beat Ethereum in total NFT sales for January and February.

It's interesting to see how all these chains in the space are collaborating in order to capitalize on each other's strengths, rather than seeing it as a competition. This spirit is what will continue to drive crypto and NFTs forward, so it's great to see Binance taking part in this.
