Winamp brings the past into the future with music NFTs and a cross-platform creator service

Sometimes the dead rise again! Winamp, the classic media player of yesteryear, has made a triumphant return with an exciting new feature. Now users can access “music NFTs”, that's right Non-Fungible Tokens embedded with audio files. Not very long ago, these two technologies were completely unheard of and now, you can experience them both together in one powerful upgrade.

This Web3 desktop upgrade requires users to link their Metamask wallet via Brave, Chrome, or Firefox browsers to Winamp. Not only does it support ERC-721 and ERC-1155 audio and video files, but it's also compatible with Ethereum and Polygon.

According to Winamp, this isn't the only upgrade they have in store. They plan on introducing a cross-platform creator service in early 2023, making Winamp a universal and advanced listening platform. Who knows what other exciting features they have up their sleeve?

At any rate, it's great to hear that the old-school classic media player is back and better than ever! More than just an upgrade, Winamp's NFT support is truly bringing the past into the future (*cue the classic sound of nostalgia 🎧🔊*)

Tron and Tether launch Chinese Yuan-pegged Stablecoin CNHT

Sometimes stablecoins can just feel a bit, well, stable. But with Tether and Tron's new collaboration to introduce the yuan-pegged stablecoin CNHT, it's like we've gone from "The Snoozefest Express" to the "Stablecoin Super Sonic". At least that's according to the crypto community, who are thrilled to have a new high-speed option for their transactions or trades.

Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, is also pretty excited about the milestone - he even tweeted "CNHT on #TRON. Big milestone for crypto and Asia community." And it's clear to see why - this could be a major breakthrough for transactions involving the Chinese yuan, as the People's Bank of China has kept it on a managed floating exchange rate for the last 16 years.

But while CNHT could be revolutionary, Ethereum explorer data shows that it still has a way to go before it catches up with USDC in terms of total addresses and supply.

Still, CNHT's arrival on the scene has definitely brought a lot of excitement to the crypto world - and hopefully it'll live up to the hype.

Cardano's Djed stablecoin Is ready to take on the competition

Tether & Tron aren't alone - Cardano's Djed stablecoin is joining the party.

Despite the recent market turmoil, Cardano's Djed is still ready to shake things up. The new Djed testnet version 1.1.1 kicked off with a bang - introducing Vasil hard fork compatibility, activity history, and more! As an alternative stablecoin, Djed is ready to show that it can hold its own against its competitors.

Djed is the first algorithmic stablecoin to be issued on Cardano's proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain, and the recent reactivation of its testnet also included the display of DJED & SHEN (the reserve coin) logos and icons on Nami wallet. With its whitepaper from August 2021 describing Djed as "an algorithmic stablecoin protocol that behaves like an autonomous bank that buys and sells stablecoins for a price in a range that is pegged to a target price," it's clear that Cardano is serious about their foray into the stablecoin space.

The mainnet version of Djed, which is being developed by COTI in partnership with Cardano, is expected to go live after a successful audit in January 2023. That means that it won't be too long before we'll see Djed join the ranks of other leading stablecoins.
